How the game works

A tile clears when its number equals how many tiles sit in its row or column run. Clearing a tile cracks open adjacent gray tiles, revealing new numbers that may clear in turn—that is where chains come from.

In standard play, every six drops a new row pushes up from the bottom. Let it reach the top and the run ends. Some Daily Challenge modifiers can change that rhythm.

Daily Challenge

Why can’t I replay today’s challenge?

Every player gets the same board and one attempt, which keeps scores comparable. A new board arrives at 00:00 UTC. Endless mode can be played as often as you like.

I closed the app during a Daily Challenge.

Reopen Countdrop and the board will be exactly where you left it. Progress is saved after every drop.

My streak survived a day I missed.

You had a Streak Freeze banked. You earn one for every five days of streak, can hold up to two, and they are spent automatically on a missed day.

Purchases and cosmetic themes

Are paid themes required?

No. Countdrop is free to play without ads. Premium worlds and the Developer Supporter Pack are optional, one-time cosmetic purchases. They never improve scores, add tools, or give an advantage in Daily Challenge.

How do I restore purchased items?

Open Shop, scroll to the Developer Supporter Pack at the bottom, then tap Restore Purchased Items. Use the same Apple Account that made the purchase. The App Store may ask you to sign in.

What is included in the Supporter Pack?

The pack permanently unlocks the Midnight Cat theme, Midnight Cat avatar frame, and Supporter badge for the purchasing Apple Account.

I was charged, but the item still looks locked.

Wait a moment, reopen the Shop, and use Restore Purchased Items. If it remains locked, include your iOS version and device model when you contact support. Do not email purchase receipts containing personal information unless Apple Support asks you to.

Game Center and reminders

Leaderboards are empty or won’t load.

Leaderboards come from Game Center. Open iOS Settings → Game Center and confirm you are signed in. Countdrop remains fully playable without Game Center.

I’m not receiving the daily reminder.

Turn the reminder on in Countdrop’s settings, then confirm notifications are allowed for Countdrop in the iOS Settings app.

Restoring game progress

Gameplay progress is mirrored to your own iCloud. On a new phone, sign in with the same Apple Account, make sure iCloud is enabled, and open Countdrop. The game’s Settings screen shows whether iCloud sync is on.

There is no Countdrop account and no Countdrop server involved. If you play on two devices, the save with more progress is kept as a whole. Without iCloud, progress remains only on that device.

Real-money purchase ownership is handled separately by the App Store. Use Restore Purchased Items in the Shop after reinstalling if needed.
